The Return of Greatness
Finally some good news. As announced on Monday, Orlando Antigua and Ron “Chin” Coleman will be filling the 2 gaps on Kentucky’s coaching staff. Let’s go over what this means for the program as we look to complete our roster ahead of the 2021-2022 season.

Chin Coleman
After coaching at Nebraska and UIC, Coleman landed his first major job with the Fighting Illini. As we know, Illinois was one of the best teams in the country last season and Coleman deserves to be credited for such. One of the major things Chin did for the program was play a key role in the development of one of the Nation’s best guards, Ayo Dosumnu. With a bunch of returning players, Chin Coleman will play a major role in getting Kentucky basketball to where they want to be.
Orlando Antigua
Here’s where the fun begins. Orlando initially joined Kentucky’s staff along with Calipari in 2009. Being with the Cats until 2014, Orlando and Cal accomplished a ton of great things together. The dynamic duo took Kentucky to three Final Fours, including two championship appearances and ultimately winning it all once. Throughout those years, Antigua played a key role in recruiting multiple Wildcat legends such as John Wall, Demarcus Cousins, Anthony Davis, Julius Randle, the Harrison twins, Tyler Ulis, Devin Booker and Karl-Anthony Towns.
A coaching staff with Calipari, Jai Lucas, Orlando Antigua, and Chin Coleman on it is nothing short of stacked. While Illinois fans may be very upset that Cal just stole their two coaches, Kentucky fans finally have something to rejoice over. As we continue our search for a much needed point guard, we can now say we are in good hands. Welcome Chin Coleman to the greatest tradition in college basketball, and as for you Orlando, welcome back home.
